About Us

Welcome To Strawberry Rose Farm

Hi my name is Caroline and I am a fully qualified teacher BA (Hons) with a Nutrition Diploma (AfN).

Having worked within educational settings throughout the North West for the last 12 years I have become increasingly aware of the lack of nutritional education available for children of primary and secondary school age. This has caused incredible concern.

Having brought my own children up on a healthy, wholesome, fresh food diet it surprises me greatly how the majority of today’s children are eating! With many children living on highly processed, additive filled, nutrient stripped foods. Unfortunately for children they are unaware of the effects that their poor diet habits are having on their uneducated bodies.

Childhood obesity is on the rise and together we must do something about it.

2018 – Publications confirm that “Obesity is the UK’s second largest preventable cause of cancer after smoking”

When teaching classes of 8 and 9 year old children about food and where food comes from, I have often asked children questions like ‘what are your favourite foods?’ quite often the answer is chicken nuggets and when I ask ‘Where do you think the ingredients come from?’ Children answer the supermarket and are totally unaware of it’s original origin. Such a sad fact!

When asking children what their favourite things to do in their own time are, I so often receive the same response ‘play on my computer’ or other electronic devices!

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Poor diet and sedentary lifestyle = ill Health later in life!In 2012 I met my Fiancé Martyn who is a fully qualified sports football coach for children age 3+.

Martyn’s ambition is the same as mine: To educate children to take control of their own health, by providing them with the skills and enthusiasm they need to make healthy food choices and to plant the seed for them to WANT to lead a fun, active lifestyle. Being parents ourselves we have brought and continue to bring up our children in this way. Over the years our children have all grown their own fruits and vegetables and cooked and prepared healthy and nutritious meals for us in our family kitchen. We often over hear them educating and inspiring their friends to make healthy food choices too. The most amazing thing is that they find it ‘weird’ and ‘uncool’ to eat foods that are not wholesome and natural. Don’t be misled I am not saying that they don’t eat what we all class as “treats” because they do, but when they do, they make wise choices and often look at ways to make healthier versions of the treats they like.

All of our children are part of different sports clubs to keep them active this not only keeps them healthy but enhances their social skills and teaches them the importance of team work and commitment too.

ALL PARENTS WANT WHAT IS BEST FOR THEIR CHILDREN and the answers lie here at Strawberry Rose Farm!
